The Intimacy in Embrace

My friend Rey just launched his latest project Dap: The Intimacy In Embrace and it feels new and nostalgic at the same time. The pandemic makes daps and long hugs feel like they might be a thing of the past. I love how he’s combined photos with audio from a recorder. Here’s what feels new -the subject / idea itself - male intimacy. Not the typical bromance or dudelationship you’d find in Pineapple Express or I Love You Man. Instead of masking or complimenting it with jokes and overt expressions the portraits and interviews are sincere and real.
